When I woke up this morning, I hoped I had dreamed it.
The SetupBuilder community has lost a great supporter, and I have lost a
valued friend and a colleague. Russell B. Eggen. I just feel devastated. My
love and condolences to all his family.
Nikki (Russ's niece) told us that he stayed upbeat and had a sense of humor
through to his last words. The nurse was seeing if he had any requests
before he passed and he said he didn't have any. "What would happen if you
didn't wake up?" to which he answered, "That's show biz."
R.I.P. Russ, it has been a pleasure knowing you for 20+ years, and I will
miss you greatly. I'm sorry that you couldn't stay here with us. We worked
together on many SB projects and shared many laughs. I'll never ever in my
life forget your help in our "Chicago Takeover Battle". Programming will
never be the same again for me.

Hi Friedrich,
Sad news indeed on what should be such a joyous morning :-(
I hope his family know how much he contributed to the Clarion 'family'
and how much he'll be missed.
Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.

He will be missed greatly, especially by folks like me that knew him
well. My best to his family.
A somber start to an otherwise glorious day, he'll be a remembered.

Russ,
Thanks for taking over for Gus during the first ETC conference. And,

so sorry to hear that Friedrich
despite having many on-line interactions with him over the years I only
met him at one Aussie DevCon in Geelong, Victoria a bit over ten years
back in early 2006 where he did a presentation on using the Clarion
debugger. It was great to finally meet him in person and have a game of
snooker (or was it pool?) between sessions.
farewell Russ - you will be missed

Yep - Geelong and Darling Harbour - he gave the talk on the debugger.
Who can forget that. A great loss to this community.
