View Full Version : code-sign certificate process - 2020

In 2014 (how time flies) I put together a PDF documenting my purchase
of a Comodo code-signing certificate.

When I got a new cert in 2017 I took some screen shots but never put
them together into anything useful.

I just got a new certificate last weekend and put together a somewhat
minimalist PDF showing how it went in case it's useful to anyone.

I'll attach it to another post and also put it on my website at:

Thank you so much! I got a new one last fall and it was surprisingly
painless ;)

Hi Jane -

Went perfectly. Haven't tried signing anything yet, but I have a
certificate. It took 28 minutes from start to finish.

Thanks for the guide. It was very reassuring.

I went for the "normal" certificate this time. The thought of the
possibility of losing my token key was too stressful.<g>

Hi, Jeff,

Cool! Still a pain, but not nearly as bad is it was 5 or 10 years
ago.

And congratulations on becoming de-dongled <g>.

Just to say thanks for your Sectigo's certificate renewal tutorial. I've
just successfully followed it.

In my case, using a Mexican company, the process was longer. The order
stayed at the verifying phone number status over 48 hours.

I called the support phone number and they instructed me to create a
ticket in their website, option Support - Submit a Ticket, direct link:
https://sectigo.com/support-ticket , to submit my business registration
documents.

About 12 hours after submitting the ticket the validation process was
finished and I was able to do the callback and collect the certificate.

Regards,

I have just renewed for another 3 years and everything went very smooth.

And I also want to thank Friedrich for his great Sectigo offer.
