View Full Version : Lindersoft.com insecure?

I've noticed that lindersoft.com isn't secure.
Additionally, I was trying to purchase a new code signing cert. When I
clicked the "Buy" button for a 3-year cert, it asked for a login, but
it doesn't accept any of the passwords that I have on hand. FWIW, it
seemed odd that it would prompt me for a login at that stage.

Strangely, no. I'll go see if it somehow disappeared into the
spamiverse.

Found it, thanks! Mailwasher has been getting a bit picky lately.

Hmmm. I logged in successfully with Brave, then noticed the warning to
use IE. However, IE doesn't like my login credentials. <sigh>

I point IE at https://setupbuilder.com. When it prompts me to enter my
credentials (to buy the cert), it tells me that:
>The server www.lindersoft.com is asking for your user name and
>password.
>
>That server also reports: "Protected"
>
>Warning: Your user name and password wlil be sent using basic
>authentication on a connection that isn't secure.
And then it doesn't accept it. :(

See attached. Copy and pasted your credentials into IE on Windows 10. No
problem at all.
Perhaps you have an extra character at the end of the login name string? Or
your protection software "blocks" it?

You're right--there was an extra character tacked onto the end of my
pasted serial number. I can proceed now. Thanks!
