SB5 is a pretty cool piece of software!

Just wanted to let you know that SetupBuilder 5 is a pretty cool piece of software.

We had nothing than problems with InstallShield 10.5. Your script based tool was a lifesaver for us. SB5 build 1130 works like a charm (and it's super fast).

That's funny... we used Installshield as well for many years.
One of our engineers left us and we had to pass along the info for building our setup installations to another programmer.

Well, it took 6 pages of detailed documentation and many manual steps to get from an setup.exe to deployment on CD and the web. We knew it was time to dump Installshield!

Now, with SB5 1130, we have got the whole deployment process down to one or two mouse clicks. No 6-page instruction sheet necessary anymore. The scripting environment is extremely powerful and easy to understand. I can't say I've reviewed other installer programs before switching, but I can't imagine how it could be easier or more flexible than SB5. The docs are the only thing that SB5 needs polished on (as mentioned to me by Friedrich)... and I was still able to figure most things out without it.

Same here...

We have a fairly complex installation - 3 different software editions in one
installation with 2.600 files and 120 directories. Two developers worked
very hard to develop the installation with InstallShield 10 Professional.
But Install$hield seems to be completely blind to the importance of user
loyalty. We've been trying to get the InstallShield bugs fixed for almost a
year, and now Install$hield asked us to pay another $699 for a bug fix. What
the hell...?

A friend of my boss recommended SetupBuilder 5. We converted the complete
InstallShield installation to SetupBuilder 5 in only two days (and I have to
admit that it was fun to play with this cool tool). The scripting language
is very powerful and elegant and the result is amazing: the new installation
is smaller, much more faster and easier to maintain! And it now works on
Windows 95 up to Windows Server 2003.
