Hi Friedrich,
There is a really nasty bug in SB5. I had accidentally put the SB5
file into the directory where I was assembling my files so I moved it
up to the next level. What I had was:
C:\Products\MyProd\Latest\MyProduct
I had put the SB5 into MyProduct where it should have been in Latest.
I do this for easy version control and backup.
So I use "File|Save As" It saved it into Latest, but apparently
continued working in MyProduct. So I closed SB5, copied the file to
Latest and opened it there. The SB5 file is called MyProduct.SB5.
The Install is called MyProduct.exe. So when I compile the
MyProduct.exe in MyProduct, SB5 thinks MyProduct is the destination of
the install exe and promptly wipes out everything in the folder! Yep,
all my install files gone! Fortunately it's not a complex install so
it only took me about 10 minutes to reassemble it.
It's fine for SB to clean out the files it doesn't need when it
recompiles (I had noticed that yesterday but didn't think about it
much), but for heaven sake put some kind of warning before it goes and
deletes everything _else_!!!
I fixed this by renaming the install file to MyProuctInstall.sb5, then
it puts the install into MyProductInstall/MyProductInstall.exe I have
not found a way to specify the destination directory for the compiled
install.
Best regards,
