We are using InstallShield to distribute our software, but all these .msi related problems drive us nuts. We feel that we don't have enough control over the installation process.

I heard only good things about Setupbuilder. Is there a way with version 5 to extract a zip file during an installation?

Nigel,

Yes! SetupBuilder 5 Developer Edition supports both zip and unzip script functions.
