View Full Version : Compile speed

I am amazed how much faster the compiler/link process is. A project that
used to take about 45 seconds is just over 4 seconds.

Is this because you no longer display the files being linked in? Is there a
build report that shows what is inside the install?

Hi Russ,

In the deploy directory there is a html file that has detailed
information about the install files, destination, size, CRC. However
it does not list changes to registry etc. that I can see, only what
files are included.

Hi Russ,

Yes, there where lots of compiler and linker improvements in build 11xx.
Removing the compression status for each and every file results in a speed
improvement of at least 35%. And I have completely re-designed some
internal compiler functions to speed up the compile process. BTW, it's all
native Clarion 6.x code :)

You can press the "Open Release Folder" toolbar button (or Build | Open
Release Folder) to see the HTML Build Report.

Well, you just spoiled some naysayer's argument about Clarion being slow
<bg>

Could you add an option to display this report after a compile? Default
behavior is as it is now. Or add a button at the bottom that opens the
report.

Button added at the bottom of the compiler list to open the HTML report.
Thank you.
