Testing the new SetupBuilder build took longer than expected. We'll try to
make it available tomorrow.

For years, my rule of thumb for writing software has been.

1. Estimate realistically the longest it could possibly take.
2. Then double that amount.
3. Then multiply that amount by 10.

Sometimes I come close <g>

Hey Jane!

Have you been sneaking a peek at the schedule we had for PageSnip?

Nah, Chas...

I derived most of my research based on a certain announcement of a certain
Armadillo-related product at a certain programmers' convention in a certain
year.... <VBG>

LOL - that would be a good basis too<g>

Actually I have been sitting here working on tidying up the beta release
for SoftDefense, so (now that PageSnip has left the nest) things are moving
forward there again...

As an aside, the codes sent out for PageSnip are sent by the new and
improved RegKISS (not in full auto mode yet as I want to manually check
things a bit longer), but still it is using the new hooks to external
CodeGens.

Of interest to all here, RegKISS automatically supports issuing and
tracking both a registration code and a maintenance code as well as an
installer code. Most won't use all of these, but for the really paranoid
among us you can have a SetupBuilder installer code, a maintenance code and
a license code. Since all the codegens are external they can be a mix and
match of spSDK and Armadillo codes (or whatever you want them to be).

<BG> Or maybe two days after never :)

The new build was ready to ship (and already uploaded to the server) and
then I found this very low level, long-standing bug. I noticed it when I
tested a new Examples package.

Update to the "quick update". I believe it's fixed now. The issue was
caused by a source code bug in SetupBuilder and by a Microsoft Visual C++
..NET problem. The function that causes problems is compiled with Microsoft
Visual C++ .NET. We fixed the source code bug but it still did not
correctly. After countless hours of research and hundreds of tests it
turned out that turning on compiler optimization generated incorrect code.
Installing a VC++ service pack seems to help.

I need an aspirin now...

I'll perform further tests. The "SetupBuilder 6.7 -- February 2008 Update"
is scheduled for next Monday now.
