View Full Version : 1180: Check in-use files not returning SB_RETURNEX variable properly?

Hello,
When using Check in-use files on a folder where no files are in use,
_SB_RETURNEX is empty as I would expect, however when files are in use
_SB_RETURNEX appears to be null, e.g. when I display the text 'sb returnex
is %_SB_RETURNEX%' in a message box, it says:
sb returnex is %_SB_RETURNEX%
instead of
sb returnex is
I was expecting it to list the filename(s) in use

Jeff,
Are you using "Check In-use File..." or "Check In-use Folder Tree..."?

Sorry, I was using the new command - check in use folder tree. I worked this
one out now anyway. There were too many results to display in the message
box, so it was displaying the variable name instead of its contents!
My only trouble now is it returns read only files as in use, but that one is
already covered in another thread I think.
Very useful feature this, thanks very much.

Jeff,
We have already changed this in our internal source codes (#1183). "Check
In-use Folder Tree..." does not returns read only files as in use. And
"Check in-use Folder Tree" script functions supports an "Search Depth"
option. Set to 0 (default) and all folders and sub-folders are scanned.
