Can someone please tell me what this setting does.

Setup Requirements -> User Priviledge Requirements in Visualizer

I'm having a problem because my files are installed requiring administrator
level to access.

I had this item checked so I think that is what it did. The docs are
weak....or the answer is obviuos to all but me !

Did I hang myself ?

Michael,

Two separate things. (Well, two and a half).
Require Administrator means the installation program won't run unless the
user is in the Administrators group. Additionally, you can link in a
manifest file that requires an elevated administrator to run under Vista
(and perhaps Server 2008... Friedrich?). OS prior to Vista will ignore that
one.

As for running your app once it's installed, that's a totally different
issue. That will depend on the user's permissions to the files in your
app's directorie(s). Also, on Vista, if you've inserted a
requireAdministrator manifest into the app (not the manifest in the
installer), then the user will need to be an administrator.

What indication are you getting that the user needs to be an administrator
to run your APP? And on what OS? One machine or all?
