Hello,

Since the last update, when I go get updates ... I see:

WebUpdate
-----------

Network Communication Error: 5060

I went to the online help to see what it meant, and there is no Error
Message table. Is there a way you can do a GetError(5060) and write out the
error description ... so we know what the problem is. 5060 is too cryptic.

And ... BTW ... what is 5060 so I can resolve it. :-)

Thanks.

Robert,

What version (build) do you have installed?

I'll add the web update error code descriptions to the manual ASAP.

By the way, I have not changed anything in web update - wupdate.exe is
still build 1244 (the Gold release).

5060 means the installer was unable to retrieve the file size out of
the HTTP data stream (perhaps it was a 0 byte length "data stream").

Does your firewall (ZoneAlarm?) block wupdate.exe? Or if you are
connecting the Internet through a proxy, please check if the proxy
port is correct. For example, if I use port 4400 instead of 4480
here on our test machines, I also get a 5060 error.

Hello

Yes....we have an ISA server, which connects to a router, which connects to
the cable modem. What I have is using a Proxy Server, port 8080 and the
address being 10.0.0.3

Still having issues, but we are changing out our servers this weekend to
WINDOWS 2003 SBS and new ISA as well ... so hold off.

But, in the mean time, I was alarmed to see the PASSWORD field in the
WebUpdates not masked.

Because all SB5 users have access to the username/password, there was
not need to encrypt the information.

Previous SB5.x versions did not have internal support for string
encryption. Our latest internal build (#1288) can handle this.

I have added a new "Encrypt Username/Password" option to Web Update.
So the next build makes it possible to encrypt this information.

Thanks,
Friedrich
