I just want to say this, because it is by far the best feature in
SetupBuilder 5 that has made my job so much easier - it can't go unnoticed.
The ability to put *.* rather than having to attach every single file to the
installer. Unlike SB4 and InstallShield Express, when I add new files to
my installer, I don't even have to make any changes to SetupBuilder, I just
do BUILD.
That by far is the best feature ever in SetupBuilder 5. I hope everyone
knows you can do that.
I have directories:
CoreFiles
Replacement Files
DLL files
Program Files
These are all sub-directories of my Program Build Folder. Then, I just
have only four entries in SetupBuilder all pointing to these directories *.*
.... and say whether the entire directory is replace only, overwrite, etc.
If anyone is using SetupBuilder and manually attaching every file to their
script - take a look at using *.* --- it will make your job easier.
And I love the "exclude extensions" option too. I have a directory of TPS
files. And every once in a file, I have to go in there with TopScan and add
a new entry. So, I have "*.scn" as Exclude these extensions and it never
attaches the TopScan control file that get left in my build directory.
Anyway, it's just awesome.
