Hi Friedrich

I noticed that a file is left over after I have finished in setupbuilder.
Its of the format MySBFilename.sb~. Nothing major but thought its worth a
heads up.

Cheers

Richard

Hi Richard,

It's a backup of your original SB5 project (before your clicked "save").

Friedrich,

I would like to see SB5 clean up after itself and delete these
temporary work files.

As a developer that maintains a lot of different app's I have a lot of
them hanging around in quite a few directories. I know it doesn't
hurt anything, but I see them :)

No biggie, just a comment.

Thanks!

Kelly,

Tools | Options... -> disable "Make project backup copy during save" ;-)

Hi Kelly,

These are _backup_ files of your original setup file. In case it
became corrupt, _this_ file could save you quite a bit of work!!!

Arnór,

I understand your point. I don't mind it making and keeping a backup
of my original file while I'm modifying it (just in case) but when I
finally save/close SB5 I'd like it to clean them up.

As far as I can tell this is a similar method as Clarion uses. It
uses ~ap and bpp files. The ~ap file is deleted when the IDE closes,
but the BPP is left. For me this is added backup security.

I have the same problem after rebuilding engines. Left over parts ;-)

Same principle.
Comes in handy when engine won't work. <g>
