SetupBuilder 5 and Clarion 6.3 3rd party developers

I have an internal SetupBuilder 5 version available for 3rd party developers
to support Clarion 6.3 installations.

If you need C63 support to install your 3rd party products when C63 goes
gold, please send me an email.

Jean-Pierre,

SV releases an advance copy to all 3rd party vendors for final testing and
checks before releasing to the public. Its SV's way of supporting the 3rd
party community so that all vendors have a release ready to go when SV
releases to the masses. Plus any issues that arise during this test phase
can be addressed.

This way, any applications using 3rd party tools are fully compliant and
working by the time SV releases it. We all win.

We have never received despite requests for early access - but then I guess
I am not on the SV favourites list.

I was going to correct Russ's posting but I left it for someone else. What
Russ said was incorrect. Not all third-party vendors have access to it.

To be honest Robert it is no great loss for us or our Clarion clients - as
our Clarion work these days revolves solely around our classes and templates
to interface with our C++ DLL's and Drivers and it is not a major issue for
us as anyhow - we have no Clarion black boxes etc - any incompatibilities
tend to be minor and easily resolved.

Debugging another third parties products is not high on my agenda - their
loss rather than ours I think.

You can always contact David. I would not be surprised if SV used spam
filters like everyone else.

Most 3rd party developers already have the 6.3 pre-releases. And without a
SetupBuilder 5 version that supports C63 you would not see a C63 3rd party
installation when C63 goes gold ;-)

With regards to the new features. Well, I could tell you, but then I would
have to kill you ;-)

Hi John,

SB4 detects 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 as 6.0.

SB5.2 can explicitly detect 6.1 and 6.2. The internal SB5.3 release can
detect 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3. The final SB5.3 will be released when C63 (Gold)
is available.

For example, in SB5.3 you can do the following:

If System does have Clarion 6.3 Then
Yadda
End

If System does have Clarion 6.2 Then
Yadda
Else
Display Message "Clarion 6.3 or 6.2 required"
Exit Installation
End

etc.
