Re: Reminder: Check your Code-Signing Certificate Expiry Date! (February 24, 2010)
Hi Friedrich,
Comodo say that the username and password are sent to them from
Lindersoft.
Whatever is sent does not agree with what Comodo expect.
How are the username and password produced?

We NEVER sent anything to Comodo. And we do not even now that you order
<g>. We only provide access to their ordering system and pay additional
fees.

I get to https://secure.comodo.net/products/CodeSigningSignup1a
The username/password specifically asks about Lindersoft security
solutions but I've never ordered through Lindersoft before.
Is this where I should be entering my Comodo username and password?
All my previous orders have been using KSoftware. I have used
KSoftware and Comodo for about 10 years but I am attracted by your
lower prices.

No, this is the entry page (see your Subscription Notification)
http://www.lindersoft.com/order_codesigning.htm
If you click an order link, you have to provide your subscription login and
then you are on the Comodo ordering page. Please note that you order an
original Comodo certificate and you pay directly to Comodo. We only provide
access to the certificates and pay additional fees for you.
Does this help?

I realise how it supposed to work but the Comodo ordering page
specifically asks if I have used Lindersoft before. I haven't but
there is no alternative given. If I use my existing Comodo username
and password I am not offered the discount. The three year price is
$500.85 rather than $200.00

Re: Reminder: Check your Code-Signing Certificate Expiry Date! (February 24, 2010)
Stephen,
I believe this is two ordering options.
If you originally ordered from Comodo (not via Lindersoft), then you have to
use the account credentials you set up with Comodo. No discounts apply.
If you ordered via Lindersoft, then you need to use the credentials you
established from your original order and the discounts apply.
So when you try via Lindersoft this time (which is not your original order),
then you are ordering something new instead of renewing. I don't think
Lindersoft is the culprit here, that is just how Comodo's ordering system
works.
Of course, I may be totally off base here, but that is how it appears <g>

My original orders and reorders were using KSoftware with discounts.
KSoftware discounts are not as good as Lindersoft so I wanted to order
three years using Lindersoft. Before this series of failures I have
never ordered anything from Comodo directly or via Lindersoft. There
does not seem to be a solution to the problem of moving from KSoftware
to Lindersoft and getting the $200 price.

See attached screenshot taken from our ordering page (red arrow). The
same is true if ordered, say, via KSoftware.

The problem is that I have never ordered from Comodo. Perhaps I am
being a bit thick but I can't find any way to create a new username
and password.

Go to the following Lindersoft site and select one of the Comodo products:
http://www.lindersoft.com/order_codesigning.htm
Use the login details from your SetupBuilder Subscription notification (see
comodo1.jpg). You'll be forwarded to the Comodo order system and you are in
Comodo hands now <g>. See comodo2.jpg. Comodo will do the identity
verification and collects the money. Because you have NOT previously
purchased via Lindersoft, you do NOT enter your old login details here.
This will then create a new account.
